22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
From last weeks challenge - finding a bible verse on love and expressing it creatively. Excellent art, as youth leaders we love it.
What brings people Joy?
Freedom we have to worship & witness openly in this country
Access to the Bible in my own language
Spending time with loved ones (family, children, friends)
Creation and the amazing world we live in
Standing on top of high hills
Riding a bike fast
My husband's eyes when he looks at me / holding my husband's hand
Sensing God's Holy Spirit near to me
Giving finances generously to a known need
Being creative with God
Memory music – music that evokes memories
Seeing God move in another person
Sound of waves crashing on the shore
Time and Space with Jesus
Smell of cakes baking in the oven and then eating them
Seeing a child I am teaching achieve something for the first time
The lovely noises my dog makes when I snuggle him,
Being a nurse
Challenge 1 - Listen to this song, and think about it's relevance today
Sofi sharing about Joy
Challenge 2 - because we are talking about joy, we thought we would have a little fun
See if you can get 10 marbles out of a bowl half full of water only using your feet quicker than Ben, Alexis, Sofi or Jonathan. Challenge a sibling or a parent to see if you can beat them.
First leader Marble Challenge
Second leader Marble Challenge
Third leader challenge
Alexis talks about her experiences of Holy Spirit Joy
Ben talks about Joy
Where can you see joy? How can you walk in Holy Spirit joy this week? How can you help others to walk in joy too? Perhaps you could write a poem about joy, or find more bible verses about joy.
Feel free to share what you found out - we may be able to include it next week.
