Welcome to our Sunday Service. It's Palm Sunday, the beginning of the most important week for Christians as we remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, his death on a cross and his amazing resurrection from the dead.
We're going to start by joining in the song
Make way, Make way
Just as the crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem we welcome him into our hearts.
Here's a children's animation depicting Jesus' joyful entry into Jerusalem
We're now moving on in the week to Jesus' death and resurrection as we sing:
How deep the Father's love for us
Steve is reading our passage for today - from Isaiah 52:13-53:12.
This passage is sometimes called the Suffering Servant Song or Poem.
Joni Eareckson Tada is a well known Christian speaker, writer and campaigner.
When she was 17 years old she took a dive into a swimming pool that left her a quadriplegic, dramatically changing her life.
Here she leads the singing of the hymn - Man of Sorrows.
The first line - Man of Sorrows - is used by many versions of the Bible in their translation of Isaiah 53:3 . The phrase is translated - Man of Suffering - in the 2011 New International Version (NIV). Both phrases are suitable translations.
Geoff Smith compiled this service, Sue Smith recorded the prayer and Steve McCarthy recorded the reading.
