Easter Sunday - Welcome - He Has risen!

What an incredible time of the year – In times of uncertainty and ever-changing situations – we can be glad that our God is an Unchanging God – an immovable Rock on which we stand!

‘If there is no resurrection from the dead, that not even Christ has been raised…But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead...’

The words of the angel to the women at the tomb on that first Easter Sunday read… â€˜Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you…’

Let’s listen or sing along to our first hymn this glorious resurrection Sunday when we celebrate that Jesus truly is alive – risen from the dead!

Song 1 - See What A Morning

Read together, a prayer from Revelation 1: 4 – 6

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father – to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

1st Bible Reading – John 20: 1 – 18 ‘I have seen the Lord’!

Song 2 - Thine Be The Glory

Time For You To Pray

Pray to God – with a grateful thankful heart – He has risen – He has defeated death, conquered sin in the giving of Christ Jesus – it’s a cause to be thankful.

Pray for God’s Word to speak to our hearts and spread across our City and nation.

Ask God again to bring an end to the Corona Virus and help us to make much of Christ in the changes it will bring. Pray for our Government. Lastly, pray for ourselves – our church family and wider family and friends.

2nd Bible Reading: John 20:19–31 ‘My Lord and my God!’

Look Only to Jesus–The Giver of Life: John 10:10; 20:31

As we finish our service – let’s watch a video – which walks us through the Easter Story – and reminds us of the glorious truth of the resurrection – then we’ll finish with a final song which sings and speaks of the Living Hope we can have in Christ Jesus. Enjoy!

Song 3 - Living Hope - Phil Wickham

Closing Prayer (Read together - Romans 15: 5 - 7)

5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. AMEN!
