Welcome

Welcome to our online Sunday service for June 14th. Thank you for joining us today.  Even though we still can't meet together we can join together in our different homes with praise on our lips and faith in our hearts.

This Sunday we'll be hearing from Zoe on her gap year and then looking at the story of the woman of Shunam from 2 Kings 4:8-37.

We begin by praising God for raising Jesus from the dead.

'See what a morning':

See what a morning

Let's pray

O Lord, our God, you are worthy of all our praise. You are the God who never fails to keep his promises. We thank you that in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection we see your love, justice, mercy, provision and victory. You are the God who lifts up those who are weighed down. You are the God who provides for your children. Our desire is to praise you as long as we live.

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord,

Amen.

Let's pray again

Father God, we pray for one another.

  • For those who are facing an uncertain future, we pray that they may keep on trusting you.
  • For those who are feeling the weight of the current situation, we pray that they may bring their burdens to you.
  • For those who mourn, we pray that they may know your comfort.

And we pray for the world in this pandemic:

  • For the leaders of countries, that they may be given wisdom in making the right decisions and that they would turn to you.
  • For scientists and researchers as they pursue a vaccine and therapies for Covid-19, that in your mercy they may be successful.
  • For health care workers who are still facing the challenge of caring for the sick, give them the strength they need.
  • For those who suffer from prejudice and racism, that in your mercy they will see justice.

We pray these things in Jesus name,

Amen
