22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Jonathan's thoughts on Peace

Challenge 1: Memory verse

I’ve found that when I’ve learned a verse from the Bible by heart, God does something amazing with it. He brings it back to my mind at just the right times, either when I need to be reminded of it, or to help someone else when they need it. It’s wonderful. So I want to encourage you this week to choose one of the verses below about peace and memorise it. You’ll be so thankful you did!

“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Numbers 6:24-26

“The LORD bless you and keep you;

the LORD make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the LORD turn his face toward you

and give you peace.”

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

One of our favourites which talks about Jesus being our peace in our troubles

Challenge 2: Peace in different languages!

Do you know or can you find out the word for peace in another language? Perhaps you’d like to draw a picture of it, like the one below – do send a photo of it to us if you do! No pressure though – Peace :)

Hebrew: שלום (shalom)

Persian/Farsi: صلح (solh)

Russian: Мир (mir)
