In his letters, Paul used the word "Gospel" 75 times so it would be good to know what it means. The literal meaning is "Good News". So, what is the "Good News" that Paul is referring to.
Well, to help me remember, I like to use the acrostic below. More important than remembering is to believe and accept what Jesus has done for us.
Let's find out some more about Paul and how he became a follower of Jesus. You can read what happened in the Bible in Acts 9 or watch the following video.
Paul travelled to lots of places to tell people about Jesus. You can read what happened when he went to Philippi in the Bible in Acts 16. The following video shows what happened to them and who they met.

Philippians is worth reading. It is comforting and challenging. Joyce will be reading some of the verses and then Gordon will bring us some thoughts.
You can read the whole book in less than half-an-hour. It takes David Suchet about 16 minutes to read the four chapters. I have included a link below if you would like to listen to him on Bible Gateway.
Or you could read a little every day, thinking about what it says.
In chapter 3 v 8 Paul says that he considers "everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord". Our next song is based on these words.
