A Reading from the Bible - Genesis 6:5-8

Here's a song about Noah and the Flood!

Or, if you would like a shorter version, click play below!

A big hint from Genesis 7!

A big hint for one of the Quiz Questions - if you can see it! It's a bit hard to read...

Time to get up and have a dance, kids and anyone young at heart, while we find out how Noah fits into the rest of the Bible! Click below and make up your own actions.

Or join in with these actions now that you've heard the tune!

Just before we hear the message:

Thank you to Stephen Taylor for speaking to us today.

We are going to sing in a minute, but let's just listen to the songwriters:

Let's sing to God, the only one who can make things right, both now and for eternity.

Let's talk to God; let's pray:

Father God, thank you that we can come before you in confidence that you accept us. When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the price for our wrongdoing. As your Word the Bible says, you remember our sins no more so we are not condemned if we believe. Although our bodies will die, we will live forever with you in a new heavens and a new earth where there will be no crying or pain or disease or suffering. But not only that, you give us new life now and a relationship with you.

Lord, I pray for anyone reading this who finds it hard to believe that you are real and you died for them. I pray for anyone who doesn't realise they can be adopted into your perfect family and that you will supply all their needs. Open their eyes, Lord, that they may see wonderful things in your Word the Bible. Open their hearts that they will experience your love flooding in for the first time because you can change any heart. Convict them of their sin and their need for you. No one is too bad for you to love them; no one is too good for you to love them; no one has suffered too much pain that your arms cannot hold them.

Thank you that your love does not discriminate like we sometimes do. All who call on the Name of the Lord will be saved.

Have mercy, Lord I pray. In your Holy Name.

If God is speaking to you today, or you feel that this service has touched you:

You can get in touch! Be brave and don't put it off! We don't bite and would love to hear from you! The contact details can be found on the Goodwood Evangelical Church website here.

If you do not feel ready to do this, we encourage you to contact a friend that you know is a friend of Jesus.

If you don't feel ready to get in touch, you can read the Bible. An online copy is here. Maybe start with the book called John or the book called Mark.

If you need to talk, share a need or have someone pray with you or for you, again get in touch.

You can get in touch by clicking on this sentence too!

Finally, remember that you can speak to God yourself any place, any time. Just talk to Him as you would talk to a person you can see. He is there and He is listening! Tell Him how you are feeling, good or bad and tell Him what is on your heart. If you have questions, ask? If you are genuinely wanting to know God, he will answer you - sometimes in ways that you could not possibly imagine.

Here are some ways you could start:

God, I don't feel like I need you but if I do, please show me.

I don't even think you exist, but if you're out there God, please make yourself known to me.

God, I'm ____. The Bible says you know me already and you know all about me. But I don't know you. Please help me know you. I want to have a relationship with you. Show me how.

Dear God, I've done so many bad things...Tell God what is on your heart.

Dear God, I've never spoken to you before and I'm not even sure if you are really there. Please speak to me as I read some of the Bible. You can access the Bible online here.

God, I feel so angry with you...Tell God why and ask Him to give you

God, I don't feel good enough for you...Help me to know that I don't need to be good enough for you because Jesus is all that I need. I accept that Jesus died on the cross for me. Forgive me for my sin. please help me deal with  negative thoughts about myself because you made me in your image and I am special to you. Thank you. Please help me know what to do next.

Lord, help me...Tell God what is troubling you.

After you have prayed, it is helpful to read a little bit from the Bible.

If you read a little bit every day, God will speak to you and you will find out you want to know more!

If you are reading the bible for the first time, click here for some helpful advice.

If you have time, now or later, here are three extra songs to help you meditate on God and all he has done for us.

If this is your story, praise the Lord where you are! If this is not your story, do you want it to be? Ask God.

Is your world crumbling around you? God is bigger, take comfort from Him.

You have made it to the end of the service!
