Welcome to Evening Service

When I Survey

Prayer:

Father we come before you tonight, knowing that we’re each surrounded by many worldly possessions. But may our greatest possession be knowing you! Knowing that your amazing love for us took you to Calvary, a love that we’ve just sung, is so amazing, so divine, that it demands my soul, my life my all!

Amen.

You may like to continue in worship by singing this chorus as a meditation.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face;

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. Amen.

What love is this. Dave Bilbrough Scroll down for words.

What love is this, That took my place?

Instead of wrath, you poured your grace on me.

What can I do but simply come; And worship You?

Chorus: I surrender, I surrender. I surrender all to you.

What love is this, That comes to save?

Upon the cross you bore my guilt and shame.

To you alone, I give my heart And worship You.

Chorus

A greater love No man has seen;

It breaks sin’s power and sets the prisoner free.

With all I have and all I am, I worship You.

Chorus

Lord we come to you tonight, and surrender all to you, and offer ourselves as living sacrifices to you. Amen.

I Will sing the wondrous story

Father we do indeed thank you that we can sing the wondrous story of the Christ who died for us. And sing it with all your saints in glory. Amen.

It’s always great to hear what members of our church family have been doing to help others during the Coronavirus. And this week I want on behalf of us all to thank Tina. Because using her excellent dressmaking skills, Tina has been making scrubs for the NHS.

Do pray for Tina, and for all who are shopping for others, or just making that phone call to someone on their own. Each way’s in which we can demonstrate our love for Jesus.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy-to the only God our saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and for evermore! Amen.

(Jude v 24-25)
