14-6-20 AM Welcome

The King of Love my shepherd is

This morning’s Prayers have been put together by Gill Elphick. Let’s pray.

Dear Lord and Father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways. Please forgive us Lord if we have sinned against you in either thought or deed.

We thank you Lord for watching over us at this very difficult time, and being with us through the power of the Holy Spirit. We thank you that even though we’ve been in lockdown, nature has not: and we thank you for the beauty of your creation that we can see around us. We thank you for the bird song we can hear more clearly due to there being a small amount of planes flying and not too much traffic about; also that we have a little more time to appreciate these things.

We would pray for those who mourn due to loss, and the pain of not being able to be with a loved one during their last hours.

We thank you Lord for the NHS workers who have put their lives on the line to care for those who have been so unwell, please strengthen them both mentally and physically.

We would pray for our government that they might make the right decisions at this time. We also pray about the unrest in America. Lord we know that you love all mankind irrespective of our colour, please help us to be more understanding and caring towards different races.

We thank you Lord for technology so that we can praise you together on a Sunday and we pray that many who don’t go to Church will have tuned in and heard the gospel, and we pray that many who have tuned in will come to know you as their Lord and Saviour.

We thank you for Ali and Merv, and all that they are doing week after week that we may feel as one, even though we cannot be together in one place. Watch over them Lord, and please watch over all our Church family we pray.

For we ask all this in your precious name Lord Jesus.

Let’s say The Lord’s prayer.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done. On earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours. Now and forever, Amen.

Lets continue in our worship by singing the next two songs.

The King of Love is my delight

We come now to hear what the Lord has laid on Peter's heart from Psalm 1.  So let's read these great words together. The very word of God.

Father be with our brother Peter this morning as he opens up your word to us today  May your Spirit settle on us the hearers, that like the Psalmist, we will delight in Your Word.  Amen

O the deep, deep love of Jesus

Lord Jesus, we thank you for what you laid on Peter’s heart to share with us today. In a world that is ever changing, we thank you that your word never changes. Please help us to delight in you, that every time we open up your word fresh treasures will leap forth from the very pages of scripture.

Amen.

Jill O’Mant shared that she has been in touch with the Major at the Salvation Army. They have asked if we know of anyone who, at this time, may need help with food. If you should know of anyone who may need some support, then please contact Jill on 07901 878886. Thank you.

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord turn His face toward you and give you His peace.

Amen.
