Introduction

Good morning and welcome to our service, it is really good to see one another again and to stay behind for fellowship over a cuppa and biscuits.

Let's pray

Father we thank you for what you are doing in our lives, the plans and purposes you have for them, we pray that as we live and walk in your Spirit, your will is our purpose, to see people called out of their darkness and into Your light.

Father we thank you for your word, that is a lamp to our feet showing the way, revealing how we should live in these days, looking, for the return of your Son Jesus.

Father there are many places in the world where there is suffering, civil war, famine, persecution, our pray is for all people to know your peace, the peace that only you can give, Father we offer this time to you, to honour and glorify You, may we hear Your voice this morning we ask in Jesus name, Amen

Persistent Widow

Lords Prayer

Luke 18:1–8 (Listen)

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

18:1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

John gave the message today about the importance of prayer in the days in which we live so that we will not give up.
